Good Morning fellow losers..........

It's been a while since I was able to post,  I went to North Carolina to visit my son and grandson.  My son has just returned from a year deployment to Afghanistan.  It was so awesome to see him again.  My journey did not take a detour just because I was gone.  I still did some workouts and since the weather was gorgeous I went outside for my cardio and thanks to my nephew I found an app that helps track your distance, pace and calories burned.  I actually started doing some jogging.   Got home and was a little afraid to get on the scale because I wasn't perfect while I was gone but I did try to stay on track.  I was DOWN,  I have offically hit 21.5 pounds since I started biggest loser on Jan. 16th and I am down 23.5 since Jan. 1st and 25 pounds total from my heaviest.  It feels great!!!!

I'm actually starting to feel like an athlete, I'm going to do an event called the muddy buddy with my sister in August and my biggest loser group is going to do the Dirty Dash in August.  I'm finding myself looking for events to do.  Now if I could just get my shoulder fixed I'd be perfect.  I have a tear in the tendion in my right shoulder so it makes doing anything with my arm difficult.  I do what I can and push myself through.

I hope everyone is having a successful journey...

Good Morning fellow losers....

It's Saturday morning.... getting ready for my hour of cardio before my hour of boot camp.  I'll do the same thing again tomorrow morning... an hour of cardio then an hour of boot camp.  But all this working out is starting to pay off.  Pretty soon I'm going to have to get some new work pants.. right now all my pants are so baggy that I look like "pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with pants on the ground".... (borrowed from a friend who said that about me)...

I am now down 15 pounds in 7 weeks....

Wishing everyone a successful journey...

Good evening fellow losers.....

So sorry it's been so long since I've been on here...   Was a little busy there for a while...

We had our 3rd weigh in last night.  I lost 5 pounds in two weeks and in 6 weeks I have lost 13.5 pounds.  I feel really good... I am proud of myself and how much I have been going to the gym and how much I have come to enjoy going to the gym.  I actually miss it when I don't go.  I was the first in our group to complete this circuit that our trainer gave us.  I was proud of myself for that.  It's a pretty killer circuit:
Do each exercise for 30 seconds with a one minute rest between sets

push ups
squats
flutter kicks
lunges
bicep curls
jumping jacks
shoulder press
russian twits
full body sit ups
plank

I was able to do each set in about 5 minutes...

Tonight we had a great dinner (recipe from my boss's wife).. crockpot chicken taco filling

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
package taco seasoning
1 can drained and rinsed black beans
1 can corn
1 can diced tomatoes
cook about 4 hours, remove chicken and shred, return to crockpot

makes about 15 3/4 cup servings and each serving is 81 calories.. I used lettuce and made lettuce wraps with a little cheese on top but you can use whole wheat tortillas...

I have a trip coming up and I won't have a gym readily available but I have been writing down the excercises that I do at the gym, which most of them I don't need the gym for.  But I am a little worried about getting in my cardio... Guess I'll have to go outside and run... Maybe my son will go with me.

I'll be up at it early tomorrow, plan to be at the gym at 5am to make up for not going tonight  So tomorrow I'll do two work outs.  I'll go in the morning and do 30 min of cardio and a couple rounds of circuit.  Then I'll go to the gym after work and do our group boot camp.. plus more cardio...  I can do it!!!

Wishing everyone and successfull week...

Good Evening fellow losers,

What a great first 30 days.... we had weigh in on Monday night.  Down another 3 pounds for a total of 9 pounds in 4 weeks.... I feel great about that.  That's 4.43% of weight lost...  Even with a cold I went to the gym and worked out tonight.  I actually think it helped clear out my cold....

I have a big weekend coming up where I will be at a convention in a hotel from Thursday to Sunday.... I'm going into this with a plan, I want to be strong and not get off track.  I plan to stick to my no alcohol for 90 days... I'm bringing an instant tea kettle with me, I really enjoy drinking my hot water.  It's one way I get in all my water....  I also plan on bringing my meal bars to use as a way to curb my appitite to eat less.  I also plan on getting up at 5am to get in a work out before the days start.  I do not want to miss any workouts..  I really like working out!!

And I never thought I would be saying this but I am having trouble getting in all my calories.. I need to be at about 1300 and I have been getting about 1000 to 1100.  So now I'm working on getting in more calories...

Wishing everyone a successfull journey...

Hello Fellow Losers.....

I think my changing up my workout is working. Today I felt thinner.... I wore pants that I had bought a while ago that were well let's just say "snug".... today they felt perfect!! So I'm taking that as a positive!!  My next big weigh in is on Monday..    So in three weeks I have taken one day off... I have my boot camp with my trainer on Saturday and another boot camp workout on Sunday..

I am very proud of myself and my dedication to my nutrition... I said no cookies at work and no alcohol for 90 days.  Almost 4 weeks and I haven't had either!!!!  I have journaled every thing I have put in my mouth....

Hello fellow losers,

I have gone to the gym for 15 days in a row.  I even got up at 4:30 two days in a row to be there at 5am.  And I am NOT a person who can get up early very well.  I did a super bowl boot camp at the gym today.  I keep being told that I need to take a day off from the gym, I'm afraid to not go to the gym.  I'm trying to mix it up a bit at the gym, I'm now doing intervals on the tread - run, walk, run, walk, etc for 30 min.  That is much harder than it sounds, believe me.....

Today was the super bowl but we stayed home, I didn't want to be tempted and I wanted to control my food.  We had awesome garlic lime shrimp on top of salads for dinner.  Under 300 calories for dinner.  :)

I have one more week before we weigh in again... I got on the scale yesterday and I hadn't lost a pound after being diligent with my nutrition and excercise.. very disappointing.  Which also another reason I'm trying to mix it up at the gym, perhaps my body has gotten used to what I was doing... I will not give up!!!  Just makes me try harder!  My trainer also said that I probably wasn't eating enough calories, who would have thought that????  So now to try to get in more calories..... and they still have to be the right calories.   We'll see what effect these changes make, hoping for big a BIG difference showing on the scale next monday.!!!

Wishing everyone a successful week...

Today was day 9 at the gym..... when I got there they had posted the top 25 losers from last nights weigh in.... I was number 19 - with a total of 2.93%!! I was so shocked...   Sure does help to keep my motivation going...

I just have to bring this up..... why when you are trying to change your lifestyle and eat healthy and lose weight, your conversations revolve around food......  I have been doing this weight lose journey for a long time and it always happens that the more you are trying to lose weight, you talk about food, the food you don't want to eat, different kinds of food, new foods to try, recipes to try but it's always about food!

We've been doing leg work out and I am feeling so strong, tonight we did step ups and then toss the medicine ball, step down and re-step balancing on one foot.  I'm feeling so good about being able to do lunges... I saw a sign that I thought was awesome... STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY,   Yep, that's me, STRONG!

Wishing everyone a successfull journey...

Good evening fellow losers........

Tonight was the night, my first weigh in..... down 6 pounds in two weeks!!!! Very happy, I'm 9/10th's of a pound from where I should be to meet my goal of 40 pounds in 90 days.  Day 8 at the gym and another 40 minutes on the elipitical.  I did the interval setting and on the low resistance between the hills, I tried to keep my pace at 150 to 160.

Feeling strong and loving it... so motivated to go to the gym and get a good sweat going.

Wishing everyone a successful journey...

Good Morning fellow losers....

A new first for me today!! I made it 60 minutes on the eliptical.  I have never gone that long before without stopping.  Felt amazing!!  Yesterday I did an hour of cardio then my hour work out.  Today was day 7 at the gym.  My great workout partner keeps inspiring me to go to the gym.  She goes two to three times a day....  She even has me thinking about going twice a day and getting my butt in the gym at 5am.  My hubby thinks his wife has been abducted by aliens.. LOL.. I am NOT a get up eary type of girl.

Yesterday's workout with the trainer was a great one and one that can be done anywhere..  We take a deck of cards, asign an excerise to each suit, then flip your cards and whatever the number is that is how many times you do that excerise.  Yesterday's was:

Hearts - frog jumps
Diamonds - push ups
Spades - frog crunches
Clubs - front kicks

So by the time you go through the whole deck you will have completed each excerise 84 times...

Wishing everyone a successful day and a great successful week...

Good Evening fellow losers...

Missed blogging yesterday, spent the evening at the gym.  Today was my 5th day in a row at the gym.  I'll be back at the gym at 10am tomorrow for an hour of cardio before my training session.  I am really enjoying going to the gym.  Especially since when I use My Fitness Pal and enter the excercise it will show me how much more I'll lose.

I found another great snack.... trader joe's organice greek style fat free yogurt (honey or vanilla flavor)... with about 10 raspberries.  I add the raspberries and crush them up. YUM!! There's just enough sweet in there to satisfy my sweet craving...

My first weigh in is coming up on Monday, I must admit that I'm a little anxious about it. I haven't stepped on the scale.  I'm so tempted but I'm waiting.  I'm nervous because I have this expetation and I'm afraid that I may not meet that expectation.  I know I have put in the work and my nutrition has been right on spot..

Wishing everyone a successful weekend!!
Happy losing

www.myfitnesspal.com  -

this has become my best friend.  If anyone is on this journey with me I really suggest this app and web site.  It is making me want to go to the gym every day.  Especially when I'm done entering for the day it tells me how much I would weigh in 5 weeks if every day were like this one.  The biggest difference is the exercise.

I discovered a great lunch today.
Sandwich round
4oz grilled chicken
2 tbls trader joes tomato basil humus (35 calories)
1/4 avocado
I spread the humus and avocado on both halves of the sandwich round then topped with the grilled chicken.
I ate it open faced.  Absolutely delicious
I was so full I couldn't eat all my apple slices

My other new favorite web site is skinny taste, here's the link.  I know you will find a great new recipe to try.  My friend tried the chicken taco chili, said it was amazing.

http://www.skinnytaste.com/

I hope you check it out and find something new to try.  If you do, let me know, I'll share it.

Wishing everyone a successful day...

Good evening fellow losers....

Another good day, I made cookies at work today and for the second day in a row I DID NOT have any!!! I'm feeling very good about my eating habits and I find myself wanting to go to the gym.  I'm really finding the my fitness pal app to be so extremely helpful.  I really like that and the end of the day it will tell you that if you continue with days like this... it tells you what you will weigh in 5 weeks and I'll tell you, I REALLY like that number!!!

I had a success today at the gym, my tainer checked my body mass index and since I started going to the gym last year it is down 8%!!! And it's down 1% from last week.  So that means even if the scale isn't showing me the numbers I like that my body has changed and that I have gained MUSCLE!!  Love it.  I want to be strong and fit!

Thank you to all who have given me feedback, support and most of all love. Without my support group I wouldn't make it!!!

Muaahhh....

Wishing everyone success....

Hello fellow losers.... Gotta love Monday. It's not really a bad day, gets us back into the routine. Sometimes weekends are difficult. I went to the tea.... I did have a couple small scones (yummy by the way).. But I did account for them. I am one week in and I have not had a cookie at work or any alcohol. My big test for no alcohol will be in Feburary when I attend the state meeting for the Washington state emblem association. The best part of the weekend is the partying in our rooms. I have a plan, I'm going to bring my flavored water. Usually I'm the bartender but I plan to pass the torch for the weekend. Goin to the gym tonight. My legs are sooo sore from my great workout on Saturday. I plan to go to the gym Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Saturday this week. I know the key to this is going to exercise and journaling all my food, which I have done. Last nights dinner was a great weight watcher recipe. Sweet&sour slow cooker flank steak. I served it over a 1/2 cup organic brown rice and asparagus. Very tasty. I had a small portion for my lunch today with a honey crisp apple. Those are the best apples ever. If you haven't tried one, your missing out. The most juicy and crispy apple. Wishing everyone a successful day... D

Good Morning fellow losers.....
Last night I made a great recipe.. spinach lasagna rolls.  Very easy and very tasty.  I found the recipe on skinnytaste.com.

Another tool I'm going to use to to assist me in reaching my goal is my fitness pal.  I can use it on my pc and they have an app for my iphone so I keep track of all my food and activities throughout the day. One of the coolest features about this app for my phone is that it has a scanner so you can scan the bar code of the food your eating and it will enter all the info for that food.  Bonus, takes all the work out of  journaling.  This is not my first time in the weight lose journey and the key to any weight lose success is to journal, journal, journal.  So I have found that the easier I make it to journal the more successful I will be.

I also have two other goals that I have set to give me as much success as possible and those are:  1) No alcohol for 90 days......
         2) No cookies at work (understand that we make cookies at work every day, so I help make them as well as smell them every day).

I'm slightly nervous about today, I have to attend a tea.  One of my weaknesses is sweets.  I know there is going to be cake, the tea sandwiches shouldn't be too bad.  It's just those darn desserts that get me.  I will be strong!!!

Wishing everyone a successful day.....

your number one fan says you have what it takes to reach you goal

This is my first try at blogging.  I'm not the best writer but I'm going to give this a try. I'm hoping that this will keep me on track and help me reach my goals.  My goal is to lose 40 pounds by April 16th.  My plan is to use this blog to help myself and others to reach their goals.  To encourage others and to receive encourgement.  This is a journey for many of us and all of us need encourgement, support and love...
